ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention.

Mikulski's office said Wednesday that the senator will lead the podium program highlighting Democratic women candidates for Senate in 2012.

A record number of 12 Democratic women are running for Senate this November. Mikulski is the longest serving woman in the history of Congress.

The convention will be held from Sept. 3-6 in Charlotte, N.C.
