Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly tied his girlfriend to a bed and repeatedly raped and sodomized her while beating her with a belt and a wire hanger in Spotsylvania County.

Bruce Sewell Kamer, 34, is charged with rape, sodomy, abduction, inanimate object penetration, and aggravated sexual battery stemming in connection with the July 23 incident.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office says Kamer’s live-in girlfriend reported that the abuse continued all night. Eventually, she was able to break free after she told Kamer she had to go to work, deputies said. She then called authorities and was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

Kamer is being held without bond.
