Daniel Roh, father, shoots son at family home, officials say
A 30-year-old Spotsylvania County Man is in stable condition Monday after Sheriff's officials say his father shot him during a confrontation at a family home.
Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office officials say that the shooting happened at about 8 p.m. Saturday night in the 8600 block of Laroque Run Drive in Fredericksburg. Authorities say that the shooting victim, 30-year-old Danen Roh, had been arguing with his parents when he was asked to leave. He then allegedly said he would leave but was going to arm himself, come back and kill them.
At about 7:45, officials say Danen did return and was confronted by his father, 49-year-old Daniel Roh. When Danen refused to leave the house, authorities say Daniel shot his son in the shoulder. He then immediately began rendering first aid until first responders arrived.
When officers got to the scene, officials say Daniel told them he shot Danen because he feared for his life. Sheriff's officials say no weapon was found on Danen.
Daniel is being held without bond on charges of malicious wounding.
