Police arrested Edmund Whitehead, 22, a second lieutenant in the Royal British Navy and currently deployed to Quantico after he was caught after breaking into the Fredericksburg Baptist Church.

Police in the area were searching for Whitehead when they heard glass breaking and saw a large object being thrown from a window of the church. After leaving the church, Whitehead surrendered to police that were awaiting him outside. While he was being taken into custody, Whitehead spit on one of the officers and continued to spit after he was placed in a patrol vehicle.
