Evergreen Church roof collapses in Loudoun County
August 13, 2012 - 01:09 pm
A construction worker was transported to a local hospital Monday afternoon after a church roof under construction collapsed in Loudoun County.
Loudoun Fire and Rescue spokesperson Mary Maguire says two workers were on the Evergreen Church in the 19000 block of Evergreen Mill Road when 20 to 30 roof trusses collapsed at about 12:30 p.m.
The workers “rode” the trusses to the ground from a height of about 40 feet. One of the workers was trapped briefly.
One worker was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries while a second worker was being evaluated on the scene.
