August 27, 2012 - 05:28 am
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia gasoline prices are continuing to climb.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Virginia was $3.60, up a nickel over the previous week and 16 cents more than the same week a year ago.
The national average last week was $3.75.
The Charlottesville area posted the lowest average price of $3.53 a gallon, while the Norfolk area was the highest at $3.61.
Richmond came in at $3.58 and Roanoke at $3.55.
Martha Meade of AAA says experts expect prices to continue to rise through Labor Day before reversing after the busy summer driving season ends.
