Guardian Angels patrol Eastern Market area after attack
August 23, 2012 - 07:35 am
The Guardian Angels will be patrolling near the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Eastern Market after a brutal attack.
D.C. police say a 29-year-old Thomas Maslin was severely beaten in a park near Eastern Market and found unconscious on the front porch of a home on August 18. Maslin had to undergo two brain surgeries.
The group says a 64 percent jump in crime in the area prompted the increased presence, which is designed to serve as a crime deterrent. But the group will make a citizen's arrest if needed.
