Isaac causes widespread damage, anxiety
Florida's governor says his state is prepared for the rest of the storm, while in Mississippi and Louisiana, they’re also getting ready for Isaac.
Isaac has already done some damage—at least eight people died in Haiti and many people living in tents since the earthquake a year and a half ago, have lost even that shelter.
The storm also caused big damage in Cuba. Key West got hit too, but seems to have survived relatively unscathed.
Much of South Florida has also seen heavy rain and in some cases, some serious winds.
The weather in Florida and elsewhere caused some huge delays at local airports. One flight from Miami to Dulles was listed as being nearly seven hours late, and hundreds of flights were cancelled down in South Florida.
Carolyn Martinez of Centreville left the Sunshine State before things got really bad. She's happy to be back safe in our area tonight.
