Jersey Shore canceled: Show's end comes after 6th season

The wildly popular show about the hard-partying East Coasters will air its sixth season starting in early October, but that sixth season will be its last.

Jersey Shore debuted in 2009, and various iterations of the show took the cast to Miami and Italy, where many of the show's cast members claim family heritage.

The show was an immediate hit, eventually becoming the most watched show in MTV's history. The most recent season, set in New Jersey, ended this past March.
