One of London's swimming sensations has just arrived home after capturing the gold.

Katie Ledecky arrived at Dulles International Airport from Heathrow International Airport Monday night.

The 15-year-old's friends waited anxiously for her arrival with cheers just as boisterous as those poolside in London.

"It is great to see them right away here the gold medal is all of them too and so it means a lot," Ledecky said. "...to have them here is really nice."

Ledecky is still taking in her new celebrity and all the admiration for her accomplishment.

"It's still sinking in," she added.

Ledecky is entering her sophomore year at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda.

As for the rest of the summer, the Olympian says she'll be "...getting home, getting rest and just getting ready for school."
