M&T Bank attempted burglary

An attempted burglary has taken place at the M&T Bank in Georgetown, D.C. Police said Friday.
D.C. Police said the suspect gained entry into the bank through the wall of an adjacent building at 2:08 Friday morning. The bank is located between Wisconsin and O Streets and people in the area say the bank recently opened.
Nothing was taken from the bank, police said, adding that they believe the intended target was the ATM. The alarm was sounded when the burglary was taking place.
The scene is still active.
The FBI and the Metropolitan Police Department are cooperating on a joint investigation.
