Metro's Red Line service delayed by track work
From delays due to late-clearing track work to power problems, Metro riders will face several problems during their Wednesday morning commute.
Metro says Red Line train service between the NoMa-Gallaudet U and Fort Totten stations has resumed Wednesday morning after late-clearing track work, but residual dalays are expected.
As a result, riders should expect delays in both directions, the transit agency reported on Twitter.
Officials say third rail power was restored at 5:44 a.m. and train service is operating through the area.
Buses are available as an alternative.
Metro also reported on Twitter that L'Enfant Plaza's 7th and D street entrance is closed due to mechanical problems, and all of the escalators and elevators are out of service at the Georgia Avenue station due to a power problem. However, both stations remain open.
