Today’s visit to the pop-culture dime store includes a much larger Regis, old school versus new school in the recording industry, Naughty Harry, many other items, and the mystery music video.

A NEW REGIS: But this version’s quite a bit larger, per Entertainment Weekly, “Former NFL player Michael Strahan will be Kelly Ripa’s new co-host on Live! with Kelly, sources confirm to EW. His hiring comes after a several months-long search for a new co-host to replace Regis Philbin, who left the show in November.” http://bit.ly/PFLoAZ

TWEET ME MAYBE: A good read about the changing way in which hit songs are discovered, per the New York Times, “The success of this summer’s hit, Carly Rae Jepsen’s cheerfully flirty “Call Me Maybe,” shows how much the hit-making machine, as well as the music industry itself, has been upended by social media. Only a year ago, the charts were dominated by stars who had come out of the old machine of radio and major-label promotion: Katy Perry, Rihanna, Adele, Maroon 5. This year’s biggest hits — “Call Me Maybe,” Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” and Fun.’s “We Are Young” — started in left field and were helped along by YouTube and Twitter before coming to the mainstream media.” http://nyti.ms/NHSanj

I AM THE EGG MAN: I am the walrus, per Rolling Stone, “The Beatles are releasing a restored version of their classic 1967 film, Magical Mystery Tour. The film, written and directed by the band, has been long out of print, but will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray.” http://bit.ly/O4QzHp

FOR A GOOD CAUSE: With good star power, per Entertainment Tonight, “Gwyneth Paltrow is taking the helm of this year's Stand Up To Cancer show, which organizers promise will be another historic star-studded event to raise money for cancer. The groundbreaking show -- which is broadcast simultaneously by all the major television and cable networks to millions of viewers worldwide -- will originate live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on September 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.” http://bit.ly/PcXyii

PRINCE HARRY: This one includes the now-notorious photos, per TMZ, “Prince Harry has just returned to the motherland, and he's got some serious 'splaining to do to one pissed off Queen. Harry flew from Los Angeles to England last night, hours after TMZ posted pics of the prince buck naked during a strip billiards party in Vegas.” Prince Harry has just returned to the motherland, and he's got some serious 'splaining to do to one pissed off Queen. Harry flew from Los Angeles to England last night, hours after TMZ posted pics of the prince buck naked during a strip billiards party in Vegas.” http://bit.ly/MMSQL9

MEANWHILE: He didn’t just offend the Queen, per Us Weekly, “Professionally speaking, Harry -- a trained military helicopter pilot on leave during his wild weekend -- has some explaining to do as well. "He will be reprimanded [by the army]. Officers should never bring the Service into disrepute, whether on or off duty," a senior military source tells Us. "This display of social misbehavior has raised eyebrows." http://bit.ly/P03uQ7

BART BIEBER: Or something like per E!, “Justin Bieber let his 27 million Twitter followers in on a little secret yesterday: he's going to be appearing on The Simpsons!" Just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy," the 18-year-old heartthrob tweeted before later deleting it.” http://eonli.ne/STIV4x

BIG LOSS: And something of a mystery, per The Wrap, “Patrick Goldstein, the longtime "Big Picture" columnist at the Los Angeles Times, has penned his final column, he announced in his column that appeared on the web Tuesday night. . . He did not give a reason for ending the column. John Corrigan, the Times' assistant managing editor in charge of entertainment coverage, told The Wrap he had "no comment" when asked about Goldstein's future at the paper.” http://bit.ly/O4WegL

NATALIE WOOD: About time, per the AP, “(Her) death certificate has been changed to reflect some of the uncertainties and lingering questions surrounding the actress' drowning more than 30 years ago in the Pacific Ocean off Southern California.” http://apne.ws/PYvC5U

KIRK, KIRK, KIRK: Of “legitimate rape,” per the Los Angeles Times, “Kirk Cameron has never been shy about stating his political and religious beliefs, so he's also not been shy when it comes to controversy. And the former "Growing Pains" star stepped right into a big controversy on Tuesday morning, when he told "Today" show hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb that he believed Missouri GOP Senate candidate Todd Akin to be "a good man." http://lat.ms/NgSfTw

VIRAL VIDEO: Of a hungry spoof, per The Hollywood Reporter, “The Hunger Games has sold nearly 4 million DVDs and Blu-ray discs since hitting stories last week, but not everyone thinks the film lives up to the hype. A video from Honest Trailers, which purports to advertise films as they really are, takes issue with Katniss’ (Jennifer Lawrence) ability to outwit other tributes by hanging out in trees and Peeta’s (Josh Hutcherson) ridiculously detailed cake decorating skills, and asks why the "much hotter" Gale (Liam Hemsworth) is not Katniss’ first choice.” http://bit.ly/NgNzwU

THAT WAS FAST: Talk about hitting it off, per People, “Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger's relationship has been so quiet that few even knew they were dating. Now, after a six-month courtship, the Canadian rockers are engaged to be married, Lavigne's rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. Lavigne, 27, and Kroeger, 37, first got together in February to co-write a song for Lavigne's upcoming fifth studio album.” http://bit.ly/O1yXxF

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video. http://bit.ly/PcRVk8
