August 11, 2012 - 10:42 am
OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - The Ocean City Police Department says it's seized 19 firearms so far in 2012, more than in each of the last two years.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports there have been 34 weapons arrests since January 1, including 12 from traffic stops and nine from searches of vehicles.
Police say 19 of the guns seized were real and 12 were replica firearms. Most of the gun seizures have occurred during the summer.
Police say there were 13 seized weapons in 2010 and 14 in 2011
