Police in the City of Fairfax have identified the man struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident around 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, James Ralph Davidson, 62, was in the 9800 block of Fairfax Boulevard when he attempted to cross the roadway. Police say he was struck in the eastbound lanes by a 2010 Jeep Compass.

Davidson, who has no known address, died at the scene.

Police say the driver of the Jeep Compass left the scene. Arlington County Police later located the driver.
