Percy Holland shot and killed by Howard County Police
COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) - Howard County police say an officer shot and killed a man who was wanted in a domestic assault.
The man was shot Thursday evening outside a residence in Columbia after police say he refused repeated commands to show his hands. He died at a hospital.
Police have identified the man as 32-year-old Percy Holland, a Baltimore resident. Police say that during the standoff, he continued to threaten officers, claiming that he had a gun and that police would have to kill him or he would kill them.
According to a warrant, the man broke into the woman's home early Thursday morning and held a gun to her head.
After several hours, the woman escaped and called 911.
Police say the man fled with the couple's 2-year-old child. Baltimore police later confirmed he was at the Columbia home and called in Howard County police for help.
