Power outages reported in Maryland
WASHINGTON (AP) - Baltimore Gas & Electric says about 885 of its customers are without power following heavy rains over the weekend.
The utility said on its website at 8 a.m. Monday that about 685 of those outages were in the Baltimore City.
Other outages were reported in Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Howard, Calvert and Prince George's counties.
Meanwhile, Pepco was reporting about 185 outages in Prince George's. Maryland Emergency Management Agency spokesman Ed McDonough said Sunday that about 6,000 outages had been reported statewide.
The rains Sunday were blamed for the reopening of a large sink hole in Baltimore and the closing of the Maryland State Fair.
Officials say the state fair will reopen Monday.
