2012 ELECTION
Romney-Ryan to visit Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is making another campaign stop in Virginia.
Romney's campaign announced Wednesday that he and running mate Paul Ryan will attend a rally at Martinair, located at the Richmond International Airport, at 2 p.m. Friday.
A four-state bus tour brought Romney and Ryan to Virginia earlier this month. His appearance Friday will come two days after President Barack Obama's visit Charlottesville.
Virginia is not accustomed to getting so much attention from presidential candidates. Once reliably Republican and largely ignored in presidential races, Virginia is now a battleground after Obama became the first Democrat to carry the state since Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
