Southeast fire leaves three displaced
August 24, 2012 - 05:57 am
An adult and two children are hospitalized after an apartment fire in Southeast.
D.C. Fire officials say flames broke out in the kitchen of a second-story unit in the 1300 block of Alabama Avenue early Friday morning.
Firefighters used ladders to rescue several residents on the third floor of the building due to concerns that the fire would spread.
The three people are being treated at George Washington Hospital for possible smoke inhalation, ABC7's Brianne Carter reports.
Officials say the fire was contained before spreading to other units.
No further detals were immediately available.
