Tractor-trailer driver killed in I-95 crash in Md.
August 17, 2012 - 07:34 am
BALTIMORE (AP) - The northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Baltimore have been shut down following a fatal tractor-trailer crash.
Fire department spokesman Chief Kevin Cartwright says the tractor-trailer carrying lumber appeared to strike a barrier wall at the exit for Interstate 395 about 11 p.m. Thursday.
Cartwright says the crash caused two fuel tanks on the truck to rupture and catch fire, and that flames engulfed the truck's cabin.
He says the driver, who has not been identified, was killed.
As of 6 a.m. Friday, the northbound lanes of I-95 remained closed. No other injuries were reported.
