The most recent poll of hundreds of film critics and other entertainment professionals by Great Britain-based Sight & Sound magazine rates "Vertigo," a 1958 Alfred Hitchcock film, as the top-ranked movie on their list of the 50 greatest movie of all time.

Citizen Kane, the iconic 1941 Orson Welles film which is widely regarded as one of the best, if not the greatest, movie of all time, came in at number two.

"Hitchcock’s masterpiece steadily inched up the poll over the next three decades, and by 2002 was clearly the heir apparent," the magazine says.

Toyko Story, La Regie du jeu and Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans rounds out the top five on the list.
