An Annapolis man has been arrested for trying to kidnap a child at gunpoint Wednesday while they walked with their mother.
Annapolis Police say 30-year-old William Ranaldo Brown Jr. is facing multiple charges including attempted kidnapping, attempted armed robbery and second degree assault.
Authorities say Brown approached a 28-year-old woman and her child in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Police say Brown grabbed the woman, flashed his handgun and threatened to take her child. The woman screamed and Brown fled, police say.
Brown was later found in the 1000 block of Madison Street and arrested. He is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $200,000 bond.
