4-year-old briefly lost after school bus mixup
The parents of a Silver Spring pre-kindergartener and Montgomery County Schools officials are in disagreement over why the 4-year-old ended up getting lost for nearly two hours after being dropped off by a county school bus.
According to a report by Elizabeth Waibel from the Montgomery County Gazette, Baraa Farag, a 4-year-old who was attending his first day at Bel Pre Elementary School on Rippling Brook Drive in Silver Spring, was not met by his parents when dropped off at a bus stop after school.
From there, the blame game gets a little murky, the Gazette reports.
Baraa's parents say that school officials did not inform them that their son's bus stop had changed. Officials say, though, that they did, in fact, tell them about the new bus stop, but that they were not there when his bus arrived.
Eventually, Baraa was found crying in the middle of a street about an hour and a half after he was apparently supposed to be dropped off.
