Ballou High School design plans revealed

WASHINGTON (AP) - City officials are unveiling plans for the new Frank W. Ballou Senior High School in southeast Washington.
D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray will help unveil the design at an event Friday evening at Ballou's cafeteria. Construction of the new Ballou is scheduled to begin this winter.
The new school is being built on the playing fields of the current school.
The current buildings will be torn down once the new $120 million school is finished.
The first phase of building is scheduled to be completed in 2014 with the second and final phase in January 2015.
The new school will serve 1,400 daytime student and up to 900 part-time evening students.
