Dmitriy Medvedev killed in Frederick County motorcycle crash
A 36-year-old D.C. motorcycle driver was killed Wednesday in Frederick County, Va. after he crashed into a Subaru.
Authorities identified the deceased as Dmitriy Y. Medvedev. His passenger, a 29-year-old D.C. woman, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both were wearing helmets.
Police say Medvedev was eastbound on Route 50 near Gore Road (Virginia State Route 751) when a Subaru traveling in the opposite direction pulled in front of him. The motorcycle then collided with the vehicle.
Authorities say Medvedev was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
The Washington City Paper reports that Medvedev was a bassist with the Washington-based punk rock band Iron Cross.
