Donald Trump buys Patricia Kluge's former estate
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Real estate mogul and reality TV figure Donald Trump is the new owner of onetime socialite Patricia Kluge's former estate in rural Virginia.
The Washington Post says Trump bought the 45-room Albemarle House and 3,000 acres in Albemarle County for $6.5 million.
That's far less than the $100 million Kluge sought three years ago when she put the estate on the market. Bank of America foreclosed on the estate and bought it for $16 million last year at a foreclosure auction.
Trump's son, Eric Trump, says options for the property include developing the land into a PGA Tour-worthy golf course and converting the house into an elegant inn.
Donald Trump previously bought a winery from Kluge and her husband, William Moses, after the bank foreclosed on the business.
