It’s a place that's helped her get away from the dangerous life she witnessed growing up in a tough D.C. neighborhood where people close to her were exploited.

Co-founder, Andrea Powell says FAIR Girls helps put girls who've been trafficked for sex back on the right track.

"We work with our girls to help them find jobs, safe housing, find pro-bono attorneys,” says Powell.

As a case manager at FAIR Girls, and a survivor of human trafficking herself, Asia Graves knows how to help these girls.

"I was actually trafficked from Boston, all throughout the east coast,” Graves says.

FAIR Girls, which stands for Free, Aware, Inspired and Restored Girls, helps young women get jobs and get into college. But in the meantime, it teaches them to earn their own money by making and selling jewelry.

"They've sold their jewelry to congresswomen, ambassador's wives, celebrities, so their self-esteem just goes through the roof, it's like watching a flower bloom," Powell says.
