Fairfax power outage: Most power has been restored
September 27, 2012 - 11:12 am
About 2,200 people in Fairfax were in the dark Wednesday after a crash at U.S. 29 and N. Quincy Street in Arlington, according to Dominion Power spokesperson Leha Anderson.
A piece of construction equipment was hanging off to the side of a flatbed trailer and struck the power pole, police say.
The power outage was reported just before 10 a.m. Crews had restored power to all but 166 customers around 11:30 a.m. A broken power pole and cross arm will be replaced later this afternoon.
