Giant Foods pulling recalled peanut butter products
Giant Foods of Landover is pulling selected peanut butter products from their shelves following a recall by a New Mexico-based company over possible salmonella concerns.
Sunland Inc. recalled 76 types of peanut butter and almond butter after one of its products was linked to a salmonella outbreak at Trader Joe's groceries.
Giant Foods is removing the following products, with the used by dates between May 1, 2013 and September 24, 2013, which were included in the recall:
• Sunland Banana Peanut Butter Spread, UPC 04868760906, 16 oz.
• Sunland Raspberry Peanut Butter Spread, UPC 04868761906, 16 oz.
The grocery stores is urging customer who may have purchased the product to discard it immediately or bring it back for a full refund.
