Hank Williams Jr.: Alec Baldwin responds to anti-Obama rant
Inasmuch that the NFL season officially begins tonight with the clash between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, it’s interesting to observe what’s happened the past days with one of the iconic symbols of the league.
Actually, a former iconic symbol of the league.
That would be Hank Williams Jr., who lost his gig as the opening voice of Monday Night Football (“Are you ready for some football?!?!?”) a couple of years ago after comparing Barack Obama to Hitler.
Turns out Hank Jr. was in grand form this past weekend when, at a Dallas-area concert, he said the following, per the Dallas Morning News, “We’ve got a Muslim for a President who hates cowboys, hates cowgirls, hates fishing, hates farming, loves gays, and we hate him!” Williams said, as the crowd let out a loud but less-than-unanimous cheer.” http://dallasne.ws/R7RtIJ
That caught the attention of noted actor Alec Baldwin, who took to Twitter to express his reaction, per the Huffington Post:
• “I think we need to call Hank Williams Jr what he is.... A broken-down, senile, racist coot.”
• “If Hank Williams Jr wasn't such a pathetic, wheezing fossil, I'd have a talk with him.”
