Kathleen Turner plays Molly Ivins in D.C.
September 10, 2012 - 05:39 pm
Legendary actress Kathleen Turner is back on stage here in the nation's capitol. And once again she's playing a fiery role.
In an interview with ABC7’s Arch Campbell, Turner talks about her role as Texas writer Molly Ivins, who died of breast cancer in 2007. Ivins’ wit lives on thanks to Turner in ‘Red Hot Patriot.’
Ivins loved to tweak politicians. One of her most famous barbs called a congressman so lacking in IQ that he needed watering twice a day.
Turner knew Ivins and admired her writing - the words of a rebel living in an ever more conservative times.
“Most of the characters I've played are damn angry,” she says.
