Kevin Wirth Jannell pleads guilty in VRE bribery case

A former manager for the Virginia Railway Express has pleaded guilty Thursday to taking more than $200,000 in bribes.
Kevin Wirth Jannell, 49, of Fredericksburg, Va., pleaded guilty to one count of bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds. He faces up to 10 years behind bars.
Authorities say he took bribes of about $4,000 a month since 2003 to write favorable evaluations for a company doing landscaping and maintenance.
