Today’s road trip on the ever-winding highway of the pop-culture world finds naked ambition in a variety of facets, a tale of survival, many other items, and the mystery music video.

SHE’S BACK: Kristen Stewart is mum no longer, per the Huffington Post, “It's certainly telling that she chose to make her big post-scandal comeback at last night's North American premiere of "On the Road," which took place at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was her first outing since photos of her fooling around with director Rupert Sanders blew her fairytale romance with Robert Pattinson to bits. And while it's possible Stewart was contractually obliged to support the film, the decision to spend an hour communing with her fans and answering questions from the press had to be hers.” http://huff.to/P1J1rf

MEANWHILE: In a word, wow, per E!, “If you think Kristen Stewart's work as Joan Jett in The Runaways proved she is much more than just the vampire-loving Bella in Twilight, wait till you get a look at On the Road. . . Stewart first appears in the film on a bed topless. Then you see her rolling and smoking joints with Hedlund and Sam Riley, who plays the Kerouac-like Sal Paradise. The sex scenes are numerous. In one, Stewart is sandwiched between Hedlund and Riley. Another has her banging a wall while moaning and groaning.” http://eonli.ne/OVYdWo

THE GOOD RECOVERY: No lights out for her, per People, “A feisty and fit-looking Kristin Chenoweth said she was happy to be "here" – meaning alive – Friday morning, during her first television interview since her accident on the set of The Good Wife this summer.By "here," she also meant on Live! With Kelly and Michael, where the Emmy- and Tony-winner mentioned "pain and issues" she still faces after being seriously injured by a falling light fixture on July 11.” http://bit.ly/RTiDhC

HMMMM: Not sure what to make of this one, per TMZ, “Prince Harry has been shipped out to Afghanistan to begin a 4-month combat tour for the British military ... but the Royal Family INSISTS the move is not a punishment for his naked exploits in Vegas. The 27-year-old arrived today at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan ... and according to reports, he will begin work as an Apache co-pilot and gunner within 10 days.” http://bit.ly/RtgIzF

SMACK: Of a different kind, per Radar, “In a truly shocking moment, Rihanna kissed Chris Brown at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Thursday, three and a half years after he infamously beat her. The embrace came after Brown captured the Best Male Video award for 'Turn Up The Music'; RiRi wasn't a slouch herself at the show, winning the Video of the Year award for her dance song 'We Found Love'. http://bit.ly/NYP9h7

SCRATCH THE 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY: No laughing matter, per Us Weekly, “Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are separating after nine years of marriage, Us Weekly has learned exclusively. "It's very amicable," a source says. The couple's rep confirms the separation to Us. The couple, who wed on August 29, 2003, are parents to sons Archie, 3, and Abel, 2. Saturday Night Live alum Poehler, 40, and Up All Night actor Arnett, 42, have frequently appeared onscreen together, in both TV and film.” http://bit.ly/RIp3nR

MOVIE REVIEW: Girls just want to have fun, per the New York Times, “(There’s) viciously funny satire in “Bachelorette.” This film version of Leslye Headland’s successful Off Broadway play — part of a projected cycle covering the Seven Deadly Sins, it dealt with gluttony — “Bachelorette” comes at you with the crackling intensity of machine-gun fire. Maybe the safest way to watch it is by peeking out from a behind a sandbag. Drugs, booze and sex lead the list of things voraciously and carelessly consumed by Regan and her two best high school friends and bridesmaids-to-be.” http://nyti.ms/OVVooi

KNICKS FAN: He never gets old, per The Hollywood Reporter, “FilmDistrict has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Spike Lee’s Oldboy. The South Korean remake, which begins shooting this month in Georgia, stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley. The deal comes on the heels of a reinvigorated FilmDistrict’s Toronto entrance, where its film Looper kicked off the international film festival on Thursday night.” http://bit.ly/UxTQ6F

AGING FRANCHISE: A push to stay relevant, per Entertainment Weekly, “American Idol is getting closer to finalizing a judges panel for its 12th season. Sources say Latin singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias has now received a firm offer for a spot on the reality hit, which may expand to four judges next year despite shedding its entire previous panel.” http://bit.ly/QlOrLv

DON’T SPEAK: Let there be no doubt, per the Los Angeles Times, “A couple of big questions loom before the members of long-running rock group No Doubt as they prepare to re-enter the fray of contemporary pop music with their first new album in 11 years, "Push and Shove": Does the world even remember who they are and, if so, does it still care?” http://lat.ms/U0rO1p

WHAT?: Of a strange analogy, per Rolling Stone, “Since hiring Britney Spears as one of the new judges on The X Factor, Simon Cowell's perception of the pop star has changed dramatically. "She's surprisingly quite mean and quite difficult to please," he told a group of reporters on a conference call Thursday afternoon. He offered up an analogy: "When you buy a dog you expect it to lick you," he said, "and then it turns out to bite you." http://bit.ly/RjyH16

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video. http://bit.ly/Oflrdz
