Lady Gaga: 'Lose weight' is the message from her record label
Today’s visit to the scales of the pop-culture world finds an apparently chunky singer, an actress who literally is losing it, many other items, and the mystery music video.
A BIT TOO HEFTY?: This is a strange one, per Radar, “Lady Gaga is now literally too big for her boots! The Born This Way singer has been told by her record label to lose weight after they were forced to order better-fitting outfits for the remainder of her world tour, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.” http://bit.ly/SfnUp4
AMANDA BYNES: The hits just keep on coming, per the Huffington Post via TMZ, “The former teen star is being dropped by her agent, publicist and entertainment lawyer, according to TMZ. Bynes, 26, has had a rough ride in the past year, but especially in the past week after her car was impounded because she was driving on a suspended license. She's also recently showcased a series of increasingly bizarre antics, including allegedly being thrown out of a gym class for distracting behavior and locking herself in public settings such as a Starbucks restroom and store boutique dressing room.” http://huff.to/PPJZp8
LOCAL ANGLE: Interesting concept, per the New York Times, “So what exactly does a bear do in the woods? That question and others like it are part of the Smithsonian Institution’s new branding and advertising campaign, the first in its 166-year history. Although the Smithsonian, the world’s largest museum and research complex, is already a popular and trusted brand, officials there nonetheless decided they needed to raise awareness, particularly among young people, of precisely what they have to offer.” http://nyti.ms/SbNo5y
WEEKEND BOX-OFFICE: Of an empty chair, per The Hollywood Reporter, “Clint Eastwood's new baseball drama Trouble with the Curve faces plenty of competition on the field this weekend and could find itself in a close race for No. 1 with Jennifer Lawrence horror-thriller House at the End of the Street. They're not the only players suiting up -- also opening at the domestic box office are David Ayer's Jake Gyllenhaal-Michael Pena cop drama End of Watch and Pete Travis' 3D comic book adaptation Dredd.” http://bit.ly/Qq82OQ
AND SO IT CONTINUES: A rocker recoils, per Rolling Stone, “Eddie Vedder rejected Mitt Romney's recent characterization of 47 percent of Americans as people who see themselves as victims who don't pay income taxes. "It's very upsetting to hear a presidential candidate be so easily dismissive of such a ginormous amount of the population," Vedder said yesterday at a fundraiser for President Obama in Tampa, Florida, according to a pool report.” http://bit.ly/RJhAkp
BUBBA: Still gettin’ it done, per Entertainment Weekly, “On Thursday night’s Daily Show, Bill Clinton, the Dr. Funkenstein of the Presidency, shone his flash light on the Mitt Romney campaign, hitting some of the same notes he pitched so impeccably at the Democratic convention. Still basking in the success of his stirring speech, Clinton allowed Stewart to heap the sort of praise many citizens felt — couched, of course, in the host’s comic terms: “What was so stunning was… that you would get the facts straight… I thought it was a bold choice.” http://bit.ly/OJAXij
VOLCANIC: Um. . .weird, per People, “Eat. Pray. Soar? Katy Perry took some time away from the stage – and her recent companion, John Mayer – to exercise her inner global traveler in a photo posted on her Twitter Tuesday. Wearing a backpack and posing in front of a stunning mountain sunrise, Perry, 27, wrote: "I ate, I prayed. I climbed a volcano." http://bit.ly/UyERKv
SHE’S GOT LEGS: And she knows how to use them, per Us Weekly, “Jessica Simpson is slowly but surely getting her pre-baby body back! The Weight Watchers spokeswoman, 31, showed clear signs of progress while celebrating her fiance Eric Johnson's 33rd birthday in Santa Monica, California, September 20. Wearing denim shorts and red platform heels, the "I Wanna Love You Forever" singer unveiled her leaner legs at Shutters at the Coast Cafe.” http://bit.ly/SJ6e0a
SO SORRY: Just the facts, per the Huffington Post, “Paris Hilton has apologized for making a series of homophobic remarks that were caught on tape by New York cab driver. The 31-year-old hotel heiress released an extensive statement to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), saying she was sorry for causing "pain to my gay friends, fans and their families with the comments." http://huff.to/PuY0dn
LIZ!: And we’re not talking Lindsay Lohan, per The Wrap, “Scarlett Johansson is slinking her way back to Broadway as Maggie the Cat. "The Avengers" actress will star opposite Benjamin Walker ("Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter") in a new revival of Tennessee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," in a role most commonly associated with Elizabeth Taylor.” http://bit.ly/QI0zbw
