Marckel Ross tribute set at Central High School
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (AP/ABC7) - Students and staff at a Prince George's County high school are paying tribute to a student who was fatally shot this week.
A memorial tribute for Marckel Ross was held on the Central High School campus Friday, three days after he was shot and killed as he walked along Central Avenue on his way to school on Sept. 11.
With many students clad in light blue shirts and holding a sign that said "Remembering Marckel Ross," the student population released balloons to pay tribute to Marckel.
Ross was killed Tuesday morning as he walked to school. Police haven't revealed a motive for the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
On behalf of Ross's family, the school is accepting cash or money order donations for a memorial fund in the student's name.
