Marcus Anderson killed in MTA bus crash
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) - Police say an Odenton man was killed and 10 people were injured when his car slammed into a Maryland Transit Administration bus in Glen Burnie.
Anne Arundel County police say the car driven by 27-year-old Marcus Anderson was pushed back more than 40 feet and caught fire after it collided with the bus. Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at a hospital.
His 14-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries, along with the bus driver and eight of the 10 passengers on the bus.
Police say Anderson failed to negotiate a curve and his car crossed the center line on 8th Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Police say they don't know whether Anderson had any alcohol or drugs in his system.
