Maryland casinos brought in $44.6 million in August
September 6, 2012 - 11:20 am
BALTIMORE (AP) - The Maryland Lottery says the state's three casinos brought in $44.6 million in August, down from $48 million in July.
More than 73 percent of the revenues were generated by the state's newest and largest casino, Maryland Live. July was the first full month that casino was open. Maryland Live brought in $32.9 million in August and has generated nearly $68 million since it opened.
Excluding Maryland Live, revenues from the other two casinos were down 7 percent from August 2011.
Maryland voters will face a referendum in November to add a new casino site in the Washington suburbs and authorize table games.
