September 12, 2012 - 06:07 pm
Authorities are searching for a suspect who shot and wounded a victim at Morgan State University in Baltimore.
Police say the suspect shot the victim inside the student center and then fled. The campus was placed on lockdown after the shooting.
The victim is in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Morgan spokesman Clint Coleman told The Baltimore Sun that the shooting was "not random," adding that the victim and suspect likely knew each other.
Police say the scene is secure and the public is not in danger. Evening classes have been canceled.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
