CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - President Barack Obama is expected to be in the arena at the Democratic Party's convention Wednesday night.

Campaign officials say Obama is expected to watch former President Bill Clinton speak to delegates. The officials were not authorized to discuss the president's plan publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Obama arrived in Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon, but he had not been scheduled to attend the convention's second night of speeches. He will accept his party's nomination Thursday night.
