Robert Gladden, Jr. on suicide watch
TOWSON, Md. (AP) - A Baltimore County judge has agreed to postpone a bail hearing for a teenager charged in a high school shooting that wounded another student.
A defense attorney for 15-year-old Robert W. Gladden Jr. requested Thursday that the hearing be postponed until medical records from a state psychiatric hospital where Gladden was held are available.
George Psoras says Gladden was on a suicide watch at the hospital before being transferred to a county detention center.
Police say the Perry Hall High School sophomore fired a shotgun twice in the school's cafeteria. He faces 29 charges, including attempted murder.
Psoras says the sophomore brought the gun to school to intimidate bullies and didn't mean to shoot anyone. Gladden was sent to the psychiatric hospital for a mental health evaluation following the shooting.
