Florida elections officials said Tuesday the matter relating to Wendy Rosen has been referred to the state's attorney's office of the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida.

Rosen dropped out of the race for Maryland's 1st Congressional District. She withdrew after Maryland Democratic officials said they believed Rosen had voted in both Maryland and Florida in 2006 and 2008.

Julie Marcus, deputy supervisor of elections in Florida, says Rosen provided written notification to be removed from the Pinellas County voter file on Aug. 4 of this year.

Meanwhile, voters on Maryland's Eastern Shore expressed disappointment and surprise in the withdrawal of a candidate with less than two months before Election Day.
