Wisconsin Avenue cyclist struck by vehicle

A cyclist is hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle along Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest.

Police spokesperson Tisha Gant says a male cyclist was hit by a dark green or blue Toyota near Western Avenue Friday morning. Gant says the striking vehicle remained on the scene.

The cyclist was taken to a local hospital, but there’s no word on his condition.

Due to the crash, traffic traveling on southbound Wisconsin Avenue is being diverted onto Western Avenue.

A major crash team is on the scene investigating.
