Worker seriously hurt in fall at Alexandria parking deck

A construction worker suffered possible life-threatening injuries after falling through a concrete opening at a parking deck in Alexandria.
The Alexandria Fire Department says the 29-year-old fell about 30 feet and landed on the concrete decking several levels below. The incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Friday at Madison and North Henry streets fire officials said.
The worker was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
