Alexander Song, UMd. student, faces sentencing
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - A former University of Maryland student is to be sentenced for threatening to go on a campus shooting rampage.
Alexander Song was arrested in March after making an online threat that he would shoot up the campus.
He has pleaded guilty to charges including disturbing the peace at school.
Song, who remains banned from the College Park campus, faces a maximum three-year sentence when he appears at 2 p.m. Thursday in Prince George's County Circuit Court.
But prosecutors plan to recommend community service and supervised probation and that he remain under the jurisdiction of the Mental Health Court.
Song was required to perform 200 hours of community service as a condition of his plea agreement.
