HANFORD, Calif. (AP) - At least 20 passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries Monday when a big rig truck collided with a southbound Amtrak train in California's Central Valley, authorities said.

Three of the five train cars were pushed off the tracks when the crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. south of Hanford, authorities said.

The injuries were described as bumps and bruises and possibly broken bones by Kings County Assistant Sheriff Dave Putnam. The truck driver was among those injured.

Putnam estimated the train was carrying between 120 and 150 people. The remaining passengers were being loaded onto buses and taken to the civic center in Hanford.
