Bethesda kidnapping turns out to be prank
October 4, 2012 - 04:38 pm
There was a frightening scene in Bethesda Thursday afternoon as two masked men grabbed a man off the street and threw him into the back of a car.
But it turns out it wasn't a kidnapping. It was a bachelor party prank.
The incident started a little after 1 p.m., where there was a report of a kidnapping outside the Sport & Health Club in the 4400 block of Montgomery Avenue.
The report sounded scary: Two men wearing black masks and khakis took the adult male by force and put him into a car.
The Montgomery County Police later said that it is an Indian bachelor party prank, where it’s tradition to kidnap the groom.
