D.C. Council to consider residency requirements for city employees
October 3, 2012 - 06:03 am
The D.C. Council is scheduled to take up bills Wednesday concerning residency requirements for city employees.
One piece of legislation would require newly-hired city workers who live outside D.C. to give part of their salaries back to the District.
Another bill would require Mayor Vincent Gray and city agency heads to certify the employment of non-D.C. residents and the reasons for their employment.
