D.C. jail officer accused of sexually assaulting inmate, WTOP reports

A male inmate at the D.C. jail has accused a correctional officer of sexually assaulting him, WTOP reports.

Sources told WTOP that the inmate said he was sexually assaulted in a section of the jail that isn’t seen by surveillance cameras. A second officer who allegedly witnessed it didn’t report it to authorities, WTOP says.

MPD spokesperson Gwendolyn Crump told WTOP that MPD is "investigating allegations of a sexual assault on an inmate by a guard."
