St. Louis flag flying in D.C. after losing NLDS bet
As Brian Flowers walked into work at the Wilson Building Wednesday, he was greeted by the St. Louis flag.
It’s the District's price to pay for the Nats losing to the cards in game five of the NLDS
“It’s a decent bet,” Flowers says. “Maybe next year, our flag will be flying in St. Louis. It is what it is.”
Most Nats fans say they aren't even over that horrible end to a historic season. Councilman Jack Evans is one of them.
“I'm a big baseball fan and that was the worst loss I've ever been part of,” he says.
But it was the councilman's colleague, Mayor Vincent Gray, who lost a bet with St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay.
And now, the so called “three rivers banner” will stayed raised on the Wilson Building for the entire day.
While mayor gray seems to be a man of his word, both he and Nationals fans tell us they hope one day a flag similar to this will be flying in St. Louis.
