WASHINGTON (AP) - Residents of the District of Columbia who haven't yet signed up to vote in the presidential election have one last day to register by mail.

Residents who want to mail in their voter registration must have their applications postmarked no later than Tuesday.

Applications are available online and at public libraries, firehouses and police stations.

Residents who miss the registration by mail deadline can still vote. Anyone who misses the deadline can register during early voting at one of the designated early vote centers.

They can also register on election day at their polling place.

To register at the polls, voters will need to show proof of residence such as a driver's license, paycheck, lease or utility bill that shows the person's name and address in the city.
